Which documents does Binance accept for your source of funds?

Binance's EDD page lists accepted papers for ten sources of money. Tick yours to get the list, see which sources need two documents together, and the date a 3-month paper must be from.

Where your money comes from

Tick every source you will declare. Binance asks for documents for each one.

Your situation, if one fits

Sets the “last 3 months” cut-off. It starts on today's date and takes any day within a year of today.

Most sources ask for papers showing your full name, and many must be dated within the last 3 months. Two sources need two documents together: a private loan, and a sale of crypto-assets.

The cut-off date for “last 3 months” shows here, counted from today.

List from Binance's page “How to Complete Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Verification on Binance?”, updated 6 Oct 2026, checked October 2026. The checker does not connect to Binance.

Your Binance source of funds checklist, and how recent each document must be

The headline is the earliest date a “last 3 months” document can carry, by the checker’s count: three calendar months back from the day you’ll upload. For an upload on 21 October 2026 that is 21 July 2026. A line under it counts the sources you ticked, the different kinds of document on their rows (the optional business registration document isn’t counted), and how many of the sources need two documents together. Then each source you ticked gets its own section with Binance’s accepted documents and Binance’s own wording for what each one must show.

Each section says one of two things. Both of these together appears on the two rows where Binance’s table writes “AND” between them: a private or personal loan, and a sale of crypto-assets. One of these is how we read every other row: the table lists those documents without “AND”, and Binance’s FAQ answer for self-employed users asks for “any of the following documents”.

Once a source with a row in the table is ticked, the result also quotes three lines from the same Binance page: the PEP declaration, the difference between source of funds and source of wealth, and what may happen if you don’t complete the check.

“Copy this list” puts the whole list, with the dates worked out, on your clipboard as plain text, so you can check it off while you gather papers. Your ticks are worked out on your own device, and the copied list goes nowhere but your clipboard.

What “dated within the last 3 months” and the other dates mean

  • “Dated on or after” turns Binance’s “dated within the last 3 months” into a date. Binance’s page doesn’t say how it counts the 3 months, or whether the time under review counts, so the date is our count and a newer document leaves more room. When the month three months back is shorter, the checker takes the stricter day, so on 31 May the cut-off is 1 March.
  • “With a payment dated on or after” appears on the allowance bank statement, because Binance’s wording there is an allowance payment “from any of the last 3 months”. The date applies to the payment.
  • “The latest one you have” stands for Binance’s “most recent”. The page gives no date limit for those.
  • The day box starts on today’s date and takes any day within a year of today. If the day is missing, more than a year away or not a full date, the list uses today and says so; a day still to come gets a reminder that the cut-off moves with it.
  • A bank statement under several sources has to show that source’s money each time: salary deposits for salary, the balance for savings, a pension payment for a pension. The checker flags this when it happens. Binance’s table doesn’t say whether one statement can cover several sources.
  • “Something else” has no row in Binance’s table. The checker doesn’t invent documents for it; it shows the line under Binance’s table instead: “If you need further assistance, our Customer Support Team is here to help guide you through the process.”
  • The three situations are questions from Binance’s FAQ. Picking one shows Binance’s answer and ticks the matching source; untick it if it doesn’t fit.

The table is the Acceptable Documents tab of Binance’s EDD page as it read in October 2026; the page showed an update date of 6 October 2026. Binance changes the EDD page from time to time, so compare it with the page or the request in your app before you gather anything. The checker works from that version and does not connect to Binance.

What the checker leaves to you

It lists documents. It doesn’t write your declaration, offer wording for letters, or say which source is quicker to prove. Our one piece of advice, which is ours rather than Binance’s: declare what is true for you, because the documents have to show the same thing.

Three more points from the same Binance page. The EDD step also asks whether you, a relative or a close associate is a Politically Exposed Person (PEP). It asks for your source of wealth as well as your source of funds, and puts the difference in one line: “SOW explains how you built your total wealth, while SOF explains where the deposited money comes from.” And not completing it “may lead to some features or services being restricted or temporarily unavailable until the verification is completed.”

If an upload comes back with a red banner

Binance’s EDD page, as checked in October 2026, says that if the system detects an issue with an uploaded document, a red banner appears below the file; tapping the file name shows more details. You can then tap [Upload again] or [Try again], choose [Upload a different file] from the preview, or remove the file with the x on the source page and upload another. If you have none of the documents listed for a source, [Can’t provide this document?] lets you pick another source that applies to you and send its documents instead. If you can’t provide a document that passes the checks and the red banner shows [Need help?], tapping it takes you to Customer Support, who help with the submission.

After you submit, Binance’s page says to allow up to 3 to 10 business days; the verification wait clock counts them for you. Binance asking for source of funds walks through the whole request, including how source of funds and source of wealth differ.
