Every fix, grouped by the step you're stuck on

Start with the step you were on when things went wrong. Under each step, the general guide comes first, then the pages for specific messages.

Signing up

Creating the account: the sign-up form, where the referral code goes, codes that never arrive, and which ID you will need next.

  1. How to Create a Binance Account Step by Step: Every Screen, Including the Referral Code

Start on Binance’s sign-up page in a browser and add the app afterwards. The 6-digit code comes before the password, and the referral code screen appears only once the account exists.

    01 Sign up

  2. Missed the Binance Referral Code? How to Add It After Sign-Up

Yes, within 30 days of registering, if all six of Binance’s conditions hold, including no deposit, no trading and no referrer yet. You enter the code on its referral binding page.

    01 Sign up

  3. No Passport? The ID Documents Crypto Exchanges Accept Instead

No passport? It is one option, not the rule. The menu that appears once you pick the country that issued your ID is the list that counts for you.

  4. Is Crypto Exchange KYC Safe? What Happens to Your ID After You Upload It

A regulated exchange has to verify who you are, so the check is routine. The danger is the destination: upload only on your own account’s verification screens, never into a chat or a sent link.

    01 Sign up

  5. Exchange Verification Code Not Received? Email and SMS Checks in Order

Find where the code went before asking again: email codes hide in spam, junk or another inbox, and texts fail on coverage, signal or a blocked sender. Help centres also want a gap between requests.

Identity checks

Documents, the selfie or face scan, proof of address, and what each review status means while you wait.

  1. KYC Levels on Crypto Exchanges: What Each Level Unlocks, Compared

The first level is an ID document, usually with a face scan, and it opens deposits and trading. A second level, where there is one, raises withdrawal limits; source-of-funds checks come on request.

    02 Verify

  2. Binance Verification Failed: Fix It by the Message You See

Typing a 6-digit code when it failed? That’s a 2FA code error, not your ID. On the identity screens, find the step that stopped and change only that before the next try.

    02 Verify

  3. Binance Face Verification Failed: What to Change Before You Retry

If the scan ran to the end and then said it failed, change three things before the next try: the light on your face, anything on your head or eyes, and where your face sits in the frame.

    02 Verify

  4. Binance Face Verification Stuck on Loading (or Showing Error 133197)

Restart on a different device. On the Binance website, pick the QR code option to carry on by phone; if it’s the app that stays on loading, begin again on the website instead.

    02 Verify

  5. Liveness Check Failed on a Crypto Exchange? Four Places a Face Scan Stops

Start from what’s on your screen. A camera that never opened needs a permission or another device; a scan that ended in a refusal needs better light, a clear face or a person to review it.

    02 Verify

  6. "ID Number Has Been Used" on Binance: Three Situations, Three Fixes

Sign in to or recover the older Binance account your ID is on, wait out the block after closing one, or ask for a manual review if you never opened it.

    02 Verify

  7. How to Correct or Change Your Name on a Crypto Exchange Account

Name spelled differently on your ID and your exchange account? Look for a name or update option on the account’s identity verification page; if none fits, contact support with your ID to hand.

    02 Verify

  8. Binance Proof of Address Rejected? Sort Out the Reason Before You Resend

Binance asks for five printed details, a date inside your country’s window and a type from its accepted list. Fail any of those and a new photo won’t help: send a different document.

    02 Verify

  9. Proof of Address for Crypto Exchanges: What Counts and What Gets Rejected

If it’s under three months old, shows your full name and home address, and comes from a bank, a utility or a government office, it fits the published rules at most exchanges we checked.

    02 Verify

  10. How Long Does Binance Verification Take? What Each Status Means

48 hours is the usual figure for your ID and face check; proof of address can take up to 1–2 working days, and source of funds up to 3 to 10 business days, counted from when you submit.

    02 Verify

  11. Binance KYC in India: PAN, Accepted Documents and What to Do If Rejected

Binance collects your PAN as part of its identity check, and its April 2025 notice asks users in India, new and existing, to re-verify using the steps in an email it may have sent.

Getting back in

Lost authenticator, new phone, codes going to an old number, and messages pretending to be exchange support.

  1. Lost Your Authenticator? Resetting Binance 2FA Step by Step

Log in on the Binance website, pick the method you’ve lost on the Security Verification Requirements page, then click [Security verification unavailable?] to start the reset.

    03 Get back in

  2. Lost or New Phone: Moving Google Authenticator and Exchange 2FA, or Resetting It

If your authenticator codes were synced to a Google Account, signing in on the new phone brings them back. If not, copy them from the old phone, or reset 2FA at each exchange.

    03 Get back in

  3. Does Binance Have a Customer Service Number? How to Reach Real Support

Not one listed on any Binance page we checked. Support runs through a chat on Binance’s website and app, where a bot answers first and can pass you to a person.

    03 Get back in

  4. Fake KYC Texts and "Exchange Support" Calls: Five Checks Before You Reply

Two tests come straight from exchange help centres: a real request is also waiting when you sign in on your own, and real staff don’t want secrets or coins. Fail either one and treat it as fake.

Restrictions and changes

Withdraw-only and disabled notices, source-of-funds requests, being asked to verify again, and moving country.

  1. Binance Account Restricted: What Each Notice Means and How to Remove It

Read the notice word for word. Withdraw Only lifts once [Verified] is approved, a 24–48 hour security hold ends by itself, and a restriction Binance placed goes to Customer Service.

    04 Restrictions

  2. Binance Account Verified but Still Limited? Why, and What Lifts Each Limit

Start with [Profile] - [Security] and count the 2FA methods switched on. Of the four causes on Binance’s help page, it’s the quickest to check.

    04 Restrictions

  3. Binance Asking for Source of Funds? What to Send and How Long It Takes

3 to 10 business days is the review time Binance asks you to allow once you’ve ticked your real sources of money and uploaded an accepted document for each (two for a crypto sale or private loan).

    04 Restrictions

  4. Source of Funds for Crypto: What Exchanges Accept as Proof

Exchanges want a trail with no gaps: a document showing how the money was earned, and a record of it reaching you and then your exchange account. Sometimes one bank statement shows both.

    04 Restrictions

  5. Already Verified but Asked to Verify Again? Why Exchanges Ask, and What to Send

Yes, it’s normal. Exchanges re-check verified accounts when an ID expires, when their rules change, or in a scheduled review, and what the request asks for usually shows which one you’ve got.

    04 Restrictions

  6. Moving Abroad With a Binance Account: Changing Your Country of Residence

You make the change yourself, with a proof of address for the new home. The review can take up to 1–2 working days, and a new country may also mean verifying your identity again.
