Is your proof of address recent enough for Binance in your country?
Binance counts a proof of address from its date of issue, and the window is 2, 3 or 6 months depending on where you live. Enter yours to see the last day it counts.
Only for countries Binance's table doesn't name, and counted up to 12 months. Leave it empty if the document doesn't say how long it is valid.
Check the document itself
Binance's windows, by country
2, 3 or 6 months
India 2 months. Eleven named countries 3 months, and the checker reads the BH/GCC and FZE line as 3 months too. Everywhere else 6 months; in countries the table doesn't name, up to 1 year if the document states its own validity.
Pick where you live and the document, then enter its date of issue to see the last day it counts.
Table from Binance's page “How to Verify My Residential Address on Binance? (Applicable to All Users)”, updated 20 Apr 2026, checked October 2026. The checker does not connect to Binance.
The last day your proof of address counts for Binance
The main result is the last day your document still counts, or the day it stopped counting. The last day itself is still inside the window, so “Today and 9 more days” means today plus the 9 days after it.
Below that, one line looks two working days ahead. Binance says a proof of address “may take up to 1-2 working days to be reviewed”, and its page doesn’t say whether the date is checked on the day you upload or the day someone reviews it. If the window would close inside those two working days, the checker says so, and a newer document is the simple answer. When the date is already out, you get two dates: the earliest issue date that counts today, and the earliest that still counts two working days from now.
If you pick a type from Binance’s “not accepted” list, the headline changes to say so, whatever the date. A mobile phone bill on its own reads “Only accepted in some places” instead, because Binance allows it in a few places it doesn’t name. For most refused types you also get the accepted documents under the closest heading on Binance’s list; which heading counts as closest is our choice, not Binance’s.
A green result means two things only: the date fits Binance’s window for the country you picked, and the type you picked is on Binance’s accepted list. Until you pick a type, the date still shows but not in green. The checker never sees the document, so it can’t tell you whether the name, address or photo will be accepted. That is what the ticks under “Check the document itself” are for.
Under “Binance’s rule behind the date” you see the line of Binance’s table that applies to you, word for word, and anything the checker had to assume.
Which country, document and date to enter
- Where you live is the country you give Binance as your residence. The address on the document has to be the same one you enter. If your country isn’t in the list, keep the first option: Binance’s 6-month row covers every country its table doesn’t name. Japan, Kazakhstan, BH/GCC and FZE appear in Binance’s table as its local platforms, so pick those lines if your account is with one of them.
- Document follows the four headings on Binance’s accepted list, then its list of documents that don’t count.
- Date of issue is the date printed on the document. The checker doesn’t need the document itself, so there is no upload box, and the date and ticks stay on your device.
- Validity printed on it only matters for countries the table doesn’t name. Binance’s row for them reads “unless otherwise stated on the document (up to 1 year)”. The checker reads that as a validity period printed on the document and uses it in place of the 6 months, longer or shorter, up to 12 months.
How the checker counts Binance’s 2, 3 and 6 month windows
- Months are calendar months from the date of issue. When the later month is shorter, the window ends on its last day: 31 August plus 6 months is 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year.
- Working days are Monday to Friday. Public holidays aren’t removed, because Binance doesn’t say which ones it observes.
- Today is the date on your device. Binance doesn’t say which time zone it counts in, so on the last day itself a newer document is the safer choice.
- Two documents have their own period on Binance’s list. A certificate of residence is “within 3 or 6 months, depending on the jurisdiction”, and a government tenancy contract “is valid within 1 year”. Binance’s page doesn’t say how these combine with the country table, so the checker uses the shorter period and shows you both lines.
- Binance’s table puts the BH/GCC and FZE line straight after the 3-month countries without repeating the number. The checker reads it as 3 months.
- Mobile phone bills on their own are “not accepted except several jurisdictions”, and Binance’s page doesn’t name those places. A bill for a package that includes mobile, internet or TV is on the accepted list.
If no bill is in your name, Binance’s accepted list also has bank statements, government letters and university housing documents. Whichever you use still has to be issued in your own name.
How old proof of address can be in each country: Binance’s table
| Window from the date of issue | Where it applies |
|---|---|
| 6 months | All countries not mentioned below, unless otherwise stated on the document (up to 1 year) |
| 6 months | Binance Japan, Binance Kazakhstan, France |
| 3 months | Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Sweden |
| No period of its own; the checker reads it as 3 months | Binance BH/GCC (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa), Binance FZE (Dubai) |
| 2 months | India |
The table and the document lists are as Binance’s help centre showed them in October 2026; the page showed an update date of 20 April 2026. A regional English version of the same page showed 11 June 2026 that month, with the same table, so the date you see may differ. Binance can change them at any time, so check the current page or the app before you upload. The checker works from that version and does not connect to Binance.

Not accepted: credit card statements from retail stores; payslips and employment contracts; transaction receipts, even with a delivery or billing address; preliminary bank statements; bank letters or marketing material, including statements showing only fees; statements of fees; mortgage or loan letters and marketing material (the statements themselves are fine); bills that don’t name the product or service; insurance documents other than home insurance; streaming bills; mail forwarding or virtual office addresses; cut-off notices, payment reminders and payment schedules; mobile phone bills, except in some places Binance doesn’t name; medical bills; anything sent to a P.O. box.
The date is fine, but the document was still turned down
A date inside the window doesn’t settle a rejection on its own. Binance proof of address rejected goes through the other reasons by the message you see, and proof of address for crypto exchanges sets Binance’s rules beside other exchanges’. If you’ve already uploaded and are waiting, the verification wait clock counts the 1-2 working days for you.
